Great Northern Pike and Walleye Fishing
The Marten and Temagami Rivers flow into the manmade Red Cedar Lake. Perfectly nestled within the natural beauty of northern Ontario, many different species have been sighted in the area. Despite the short length of the Marten, the lakes and rivers connected with it flow in and help provide a continuous flow.
With a perimeter of almost 83 miles, the lake is over 5900 acres of pristine waters — perfect for your next fishing spot.
The high season for fishing Red Cedar Lake, however, is summer, specifically between May and August. This is when the most fishing tournaments and derbies are held (July-August). Timing your next expedition to species availability is also important. When you’re in the area, you can expect to spot yellow perch, lake trout, whitefish, northern pike, walleye, smallmouth bass and more.
